    Reel Women Int Film Festival 

    Reel Women International Film Festival located in
    Burbank CA is now Accepting


    Submissions. Early Deadline Sept 1, 2006 Regular
    Deadline Oct. 15, 2006. Festival dates March 8-12th
    Created to showcase and honor the works of
    accomplished and emerging female filmmakers, Reel
    Women Int. Film Festival was described by Backstage
    West as a "must attend event for all women in the
    entertainment industry".

    The four day festival held panels and workshops
    including "Women Who Write" presented by The Writers
    Guild. Panelist included screenwriters Robin Swicord,
    who penned "Memoirs of a Geisha" and Cheryl Edwards
    who wrote "Against the Ropes". The Women's Steering
    Committee of The Director's guild hosted a director's
    panel which featured Millicent Shelton, director of
    hits TV series "The Bernie Mac Show","Barbershop" and
    "Everybody Hates Chris". Debra Zimmerman, President of
    Women Make Movies New York presented to two part
    Finance/fundraising workshop.


    Diana Means is the Founder and Executive Director of
    RWIFF. Her goals in creating this festival are to
    increase the number of women working as directors,
    producers, and writers, and to encourage more diverse
    and powerful screen images of women.
